How to track a Bombay High Court case online

The Bombay High Court sits at four places a litigant can pick from — the principal seat at Bombay, the benches at Aurangabad and Nagpur, and the bench at Goa — and a case lives at exactly one of them. That choice is where a search starts.

Pick the court and bench

In Case Search, switch to High Courts and choose Bombay High Court, then the bench where the matter is filed. A case filed at Nagpur will not answer a search at the principal seat.

Search by what you hold

Three routes in:

  • Case Number — pick the case type, enter the number and year. The precise route when you have the filing details.
  • Party Name — the name plus the year, which the search requires: High Court sites index party searches by year and return nothing without one.
  • Advocate — the advocate's name as it appears on filings, year optional; the way to see a practice's matters, not just one.

Track it and stop checking

Open the right result and Track. From then on the case refreshes itself — routinely in quiet stretches, and more frequently as the hearing date approaches. A WhatsApp message arrives when the next date or the status changes; hearing reminders come the evening before and the morning of every listed date. The case page keeps the parties, case number, status, hearing history and the orders published on the record.

Note: some fields on a High Court case page can be legitimately empty. The judge appears when the record names one, and a disposed matter carries no next date — a blank there is the record being honest, not the tracker failing.

Why does party-name search demand a year?

Because the court's own index is year-scoped for party searches — without a year it returns nothing. It narrows namesakes as a side effect.

Why is the judge or next date blank on my case?
